I'm having a very dificdiff time with this. I bought a generic 12 circuit hotrod harness for my 75 cj5. I've got everything working except for the brake switch and blinkers and flashers. I have brake power wire and a brake switch wire. They go to the brake switch. I have the all the others wired to the blinker switch. According to the factory diagram it's correct. What I'm not sure of is why I don't have power going to the blinker switch. None have power. They go back into the block and all fuses are good.

Can you post a link to the schematic you're using? I'd like to take a look.

I just installed fuse in the horn fuse. Now I have power to the front turns and blinker indicators. It also clicks when turning the right blinker on but no flash. Still no brakes either. When closing the brake switch current passes theough but no brake lights.

Yes it is. Does this signal switch need to be grounded? There's 6 prongs going to the switch. There's a 7th prong separate that's it's own plug but in the factory wiring harness.

Sparton made more than one version. Post the color of the wires and we can tell you where they go. Each one is a little diff.

When my horn circut is plugged up I have power to both front signals all the time. Where should the power be supplied from? I've checked every other circuit for the Jeep and everything is good except for the blinkers and brakes

I want to help too, I have a '75 CJ5. Been doing electrical work on it lately. Any way, my 2 cents is to first Clean out all that sand and dirt & make sure any of your Ground contacts & attachments are clean & free of Crud . This I do know......Bad grounds will mess with one, longer than one can mess with them !

I agree with the grounds. I have completely redone everything and clean new grounds. Haven't taken apart the signal switch though.

The sparton does NOT require a ground for the 75 model jeep. Your 75 should have the Sparton model SCS-3R6
The colors I am showing do not match what you have so I don't know what model you have.
Colors I show-----Right rear = light green,,, Right front = green,,, Left rear = light green with tracer,,,
Left front = green with tracer,,, Brake switch = Red with tracer,,,

Sorry I forgot one. The Brake wire at the T-switch is a Red with tracer and at the connector it will be a Red with tracer 16 ga. wire #65 to the Stop sw.
The Flasher will be Red with tracer but is 18 ga. and the wire is labeled #74.

Thanks for the responses and help. I finally got it working. Turns out the wiring harness changed from 73 to 74. The signal switch is totally rearranged. I may even attempt to wire the Hazzard now. I had given up on it but it should be fairly easy. Thanks for all the help!

A lost ground can make life miserable because the current can take any path.
Have had a garden tractror that when I tried to start the tractor the tail lights blinked, and I spent hours tracing that down with a meter until I found a bad crimp on a ground. Re-worked the ground and presto, it worked.

The other thing to look for is to make sure spring connectors are not flattened out not making contact. Chased that one before also.
