Maybe a dumb question, but are those motors mounted on the outside of windshield or inside with shaft running through frame??

Inside and the shaft runs through the frame. If you are able to zoom you can see them. They do not interfere with the soft top.

I too have the inside, top-mounted American Bosch wiper motors on my 1968 and after reading some older threads here and other information outside of ECJ5, learned they are a fairly robust design. They are designated American Bosch WWF windshield wipers and were/are available in 1 or 2 speeds. Mine operate with one speed via the PO added ON/OFF toggle but it makes me want to determine if they are indeed 1 speed or 2.

They also have a park function which apparently gets disabled from age, wear and dirt. I want to fix that function on mine because timing the park just right with the switch is a bore.

Looks like they are still being made but they're not cheap... WWF Type Wiper Motors [IMG]
    Who knew?
