getting the materials together for my projects this winter and would like to hear from those who have been there before. I have the service manual and have been on the internet but trying to avoid the "what the heck" stuff.

Rebuild the carburetor, Motorcraft 2100. looked at "Mike's carburetor parts" rebuild kits. I have the carb tag and he has the kit for it. Anybody use his stuff before? Other Recommendations?

Have been developing an oil leak in the front of the block all along the gap between the intake manifold and the block. I believe the rubber seal is going bad so i am replacing the intake manifold gasket. I see a metal valley pan on some sites while others show the normal intake gaskets pairs. Which one is better? Some say don't use the new rubber strips but RTV instead. Any tips on installation?

Valve cover gaskets. Cork, Rubber, Other?

    Thanks for all the help.

I used Mike's for my carb rebuild kit and I've also ordered some individual little pieces over the years from Quadrajet. Both have gotten me what I needed. I think most of the kits sold are all the same...but I did like Mike's for some extra over the phone customer service. I didn't have a ID tag on mine, so we had to talk our way through the identification process and they also were helpful with some specifics. Also, I used Mike's rebuild videos on the web so I felt he earned my business as the videos really helped me.

X2 on Mike for carb parts, I used a valley pan on mine , witch needed the gaskets too ( valley goes below the fiber ones and not around the intake ports)and ditch the rubber end seals and use a bead of rtv
