Not sure what you call them, but the pads that are riveted on the hood risers that keep the windshield from banging into metal. I need a set, or has someone come up with a clever replacement?
    Thanks!

I never figured out what to use for the rubber bumper. Ours was stock with welting covered by a rubber hose-type section. Heater hose was too stiff, couldn't find a suitable flexible piece to use. Did a clear vinyl hose piece. Hate the look. Not stock, but will work for now.

It would seem that the padding is out there somewhere. It kind of looks like rollbar padding, or HVAC insulation. I just can't seem to find the right stuff.

You can also use the proper size of heater hose and "slip" it on, or cover a cut piece of it with large shrink fit tubing for a tight fit.

I tried a couple pieces of heater hose; crimped it flat in a vise and pulled the strap through. Let go with the vise, and the hose goes right back to round, bunching up the strap. Couldn't pull it tight enough to flatten it in the install. Really need something much more limber.

You can get the canvas welting kits from Walck's or Beachwood Canvas.

Welting is the easy part. Got a source for the rubber? No doubt it is something simple, but lately, my mind is even simpler........

How about inner tube rubber if your looking for something inexpensive. Roll or fold it and pop rivit on the sides of the risers. Just a thought that worked for me years ago.

This parts are good for a windshield frame with upper wipers.
My windshield frame is a new model, with a bottom wipers. What will i use to prevent the frame banging the hood?

I know this is not original, but I snaked a piece of heater hose on mine.

I think I found the stuff. It's at www.foam-tubing-grips.com PT#GO-341 ID .425 wall thickness .330 made out of foam tubing, the kind of stuff foam handlebar grips are made of. The bad news minimum order is $65.00 don't know what the length is . I need to talk to the folks there and see what is up. If it is the right stuff and there is any interest, I'll get some and sell pieces to anyone who wants it.

Did those even have rubber on them to begin with? I thought they only had the canvas welting. Are you saying there's supposed to be rubber over the canvas, or are you just looking to add some rubber padding for more cushion?

I cut a piece of heater hose in half and tie-wrapped them on. Not much to look at but consistant enough with the rest of the vehicle.

Mine definitely had rubber tubing or hose over the welting. But, it was much more flexible than heater hose. More like a really thick inner tube type of rubber. Just can't think of the right application where I could go find it..........

What about some thick heat shrink tubing? I think Al Temple did that with his. The bone stock originals I got from someone on here I think it was Boyink, had the rubber tubing over the canvas also. Nickmil.

Geez, I hate to be picky, but somewhere there must be a source for a tube made of single ply fairly flexible rubber.........

Mine were not riveted on, but just slid over the welting, which was riveted. Any rivets on the "face" would eventually be rubbing on the hood. I suppose glue would be an option, though, eh?

I thought surely there would be a purist out there somewhere who has already figgered this stuff out......... Not that I'm aiming for that level of correctness, but I wanted something less obtrusive than this:
