Will Intermediate w/s glass fit ECJ5 Frame?

    Can anyone tell me if the intermediate windshield will glass fit my ealy CJ5 frame?

    :sigh: used to be I had a whole page about WS frames because this was asked so much.

    The answer is "it depends" what year is the Early? The frames internal dimensions and shape changed over the years. The last earlies will accept an Intermediate glass.

    Easiest thing is that just put an Intermediate frame on there. They didn't change (externally) until 1976.

    Actually, it's an M38A1 frame. I'm trying to fit glass from a 69 CJ

    Sorry about the misinformation. I don't have the glass or the w/s frame in hand as of yet.

    I have to think that if it's too large a shop could fit it...correct?

    No, no misinformation. Just a lack. :)

    It will not fit a M38A1 frame. If you look at the top of the frame it's flat. The later (Earlies and Intermediates) have a larger trapezoid shape to the glass, bottom flat, top sorta arched.

    I think I might have the early glass you need, I could give it to you when we meet up for the lift kit, I'll measure it to be sure.

    Just went out back and looked, I have it, it is unarched sitting in a junk ws frame, looks the same as the one in my 66 cj5, should fit your m38 fine

    Ha! I suspected that you were lurling about.

    That sounds like a deal. I guess I'll measure my A1 frame when I get it and be in touch. We're still looking mid March till I get up to Maine.
