Getting ready to buy a new clutch for my Jeep but have very little knowledge as to what brand I should use. I know for sure I am staying away from omix-ada and crown but outside of that I’m clueless. I’ve seen everything from $120 to $400.

1973 Cj5 258(from an ‘84?), T18(not sure of origin). 90% of driving on the street as it is my daily. Mild offroad trails.

Ps.- I tend to beat on the Jeep a bit so the clutch will need to handle that as well

    Thanks!

Regarding brand, both Luk and Sachs are recommended. Valeo seems ok too. Personally, I would get an original replacement clutch kit, which should be a 10.5" diaphragm type. $400 is ridiculous.

There is no distinction between the 3-speed and 4-speed parts, according to Jeep. If you have a Ford T-18, possibly it's different. If I were not sure what I had, I'd take it apart and look at the old parts first, and compare the description of what I was going to buy to what I had.
