I have had great luck with hard to find parts from the classifieds on this site. I got an original fold and tumble passenger seat in good condition. I reapolsered anyway because I was looking for new condition. I have a 74 CJ5. I got an as new condition dash pad and an emergency break pedal. Ultimately found several in case anyone needs an emergency break pedal. They can be a bear to find. Also got stock chrome hood hinges and a stock alternator bracket for my 4.2L. No matter what you are looking for someone on this site likely has it or knows where you can get it. That being said I am having a hard time finding a rear bumper with a spare tire swing out. Mine has the low stock tail lights and most block them. Cross Enterprises appears to no longer be a valid site. There web page has what I want but they don't respond to email and the phone # answers with a voice mail from a bed liner company and they haven't responded to voicemails either.

I realize that this an older thread , but not sure to ask here or start new thread .
Any how I am in need of a transmission hump . Not the bolt in part , I found that . I need the hump between the two seats . One half of this hump sits under the tool box .

I was look on the web and found this site. It has a tool where you can get bulb bayonet or replacement bulbs. For me I have to replace these parts. I thought to share!

    Question
Replacing nuts and bolts that have rusted through or ruined somehow. Has anyone come across good nut and bolt sets? (Amazon?) Especially the star nuts. Right now I’m looking for nuts and bolts for gas tank and skid plate right now but will need more.

McMaster-Carr should have anything you need. You may have to buy more than you need though. Not in a set either. You may be able to find some of what you need at the big box stores or local hardware stores.

I buy these sets of stainless screws for electronics stuff. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CKNGX1P/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I have also found that eBay is an excellent source for hardware.

Similar kits are available for the larger sizes. Spiff up your search skills and find them yourself.

What do you mean by "star nuts?" Suggest you look through the McMaster-Carr catalog and get the terminology right. Hexlobular? 12-point? Torx? Or the nuts with a captured shakeproof washer? The captured shakeproof is an assembly-line thing that you can duplicate with a regular nut and shakeproof washer for a fraction of the cost per piece.

I made an account at Fastenal. If you choose the ship to your local store option then the shipping is a fraction of having it come UPS to your house. You can buy a single bolt or a quantity of 100.

I have been doing research but I figure you guys have done a lot more than me so thought I’d ask.
I found some SS nut and bolt sets at local Tractor Supply that will work for now.
Thanks for the suggestions and the suggestion about the McMaster Carr catalog.
Total newbie, ignorant, but willing to learn.

JMO - stainless for generic fasteners is not worth the cost, especially in your location. I typically use the bright-zinc-plated parts from the hardware store or the big box store, when they have what I want. Up to you.

Thanks, these bolts won’t been seen unless you’re looking for them. Good advice!

Bob is no longer selling, AFAIK. For nearly a decade.

Depending on what you want, Summit Racing has good prices.

    1972 AMC Jeep 304 V8 water pump

    https://theamcforum.com/forum/6872-v8-correct-new-water-pump-photo_topic98457.html

This is a shorter height from the '73 and later pump. The pump that the regular sellers list for this application (RockAuto, parts stores) is the later type and is wrong. The later pump will sorta-kinda work, but the height is wrong and the belts will not align right.

Note that this is the right pump for '71-72 V8 Wagoneers and J-trucks too, but it only applies to CJs in 1972.

I will post a longer discussion of this topic in the regular forum, which you can find if you search.

I've spent some time searching for a dash for a 1973 but not met with any success. Do any of the parts vendors sell replacement dashboards? Plenty of tubs, tailgates, hoods, etc. but no dashboard panels. (Used ones are as rare as hen's teeth, also.)

    Thanks
