Good topic considering I’m in this same process although I’m not going with swampers. I’m going with AT but have two sets of rims. 15x 8 and 15 x 10.5. Not sure which to go with on my 66 dauntless with 2.5 lift and stock t90/d18. Mainly road driven with a small bit of highway. Looking to re-gear as well to 4.10 or 4.27. I don’t need the 5.38. Opinions gents? I’m tossed up on this. Like the aluminum Micky rims of the 10.5 but not sure how 12.5 tires do with this jeep on the road

I am currently running 34x9.50x15 Swampers on 6 inch rims. They are working well.

Those look great. I should have waited and gotten a thinner rim. The 33x10.5 BFG MT are a great tire and fit fine on the 8” rim. But something like you have is really what I was looking for.

A 15x10.5 rim is VERY wide IMHO...don't think you would want to run a 10.5" wide tire such as a 31x10.5 or 33x10.5, as the rim needs to be at least a couple inches more narrow than the tire. With a 2.5 lift, I am guessing you are looking for something in a 31-33" tire, so with the 15x8, you could run 31 or 33x10.5 tires, and you could run a 32 or 33x12.5 tire if you so desired.

I was thinking that it was wide for the CJ and currently have them on the jeep but may sell them and go with original ones that came on them (steel) 15x8 and was thinking KO2 33X10.5, to try to keep most of debris within wheelhouse

The red '51 has 33x10.5 on 8" wheels and the Blue '49 has 31x10.5s on 8". My 'rule of thumb' is @ 2 - 3 inches narrower on the rim than the tire. Those can vary depending on the tire, but found it works pretty good.
