I am kinda confused on the KH rims that seem desirable by so many. I understand they are hard to find and the originality thing. But how do you tell them apart from others? Are they stamped? And what is the difference with these

They look the same and are the same size.....NO?:?

They look like "modern" stock CJ wheels to me (ie 72-on). The K-H aftermarket wheels that are causing so much trouble here have rivets that protrude into the wheel from the back, and are 8" width. You'd need to see the back side of these wheels to compare. $5 each is almost free if you are in the area. I'd just take a chance if I needed them.

The stock wheels are cream colored on the front and a grayish color on the inside of the rim (at least in the mid 70s), like the wheel in the background. If these came off a Jeep, they've been painted.

The OEM wheels are very good quality, if you want that width.

So KH is an aftermarket wheel then. I guess that answers some questions thanks timgr. I do not need any I am only looking for a cheap spare rim and have always wondered what the KH hipe was.

    Thanks

    No.

KH are the OE wheels. All Jeeps had them, just that most were 5-6" wide but some came in the 8" widths (RenI, etc) that more Jeepers want now.

I thought that the 8" K-H that fit everything were all aftermarket. The ones that only fit 10" drums are both aftermarket and early Ren. The Intermediate Rens all had aluminum wheels. I know that we sold 8" aftermarket K-H wheels with intermediates way back when... so there must be some of them out there that fit at least some of the 11" drums.

Well, I don't either for a fact. Will the wheels that fit 11" drums fit over disks?

<edit> I do know that I could have bought K-H 8" wheels for my '73 at the time I bought the 8" wagon wheels (in 1973). I remember distinctly that the plain aftermarket wheels we could get were K-H.

I have yet to find a stock Jeep 8" KH rim that fits over the aftermarket 11 drums.
