What kind of hard top is this?

The jeep that it is on is junk, but the top is in halfway decent. I was wondering if it is homemade or not. I might make an offer on it if it was made by a company. The jeep also has a defroster package in it. Has anyone heard or seen anything like that?. It is a tube that runs from the heater up to the steering column and across the bottom of the windshield.

 

Looks like a Jeepster Commando half-cab to me. Hacked up, but it has the right shape.

 

If the defroster package is what I'm thinking Hermtheoverdriveguy sells, or used to sell a reproduction for the 3b of that kit.

 

Re my "hacked up" comment, I think the cap is in pretty good shape. There is a bulkhead that goes with it, to connect the cab to the floor. It's been cut some, but likely repairable. The Jeepster half-cabs are rather desirable, BTW.

Thats what I figured, but just the way you worded it got me confused. So, if I got it, It would probably be only for resale then and for a good ws glass.
