No snorkel cut-out and no hole for the secondary hood catch, that would place it in the mid 60's.

Guessing since it’s missing the passenger side scallop it’s not original to my Tux then, right?

every picture I can find of a tuxedo park Jeep hood has the scallop: C482CFA3-1780-46CE-9C7F-2CC92E86202C.jpeg

makes me wonder about whether my body tub is even original...it has some weird stuff like a rifle butt holder: 3E9213FE-C605-465C-A17E-788BB3868931.jpeg

Your serial # dates to May 1966. My serial number dates to Dec. 1965 and mine does not have a snorkel cut-out.

The rifle butt holder could have come at anytime by a PO. I have one that would match laying on my shop bench, it's an aftermarket add-on.

The guy I bought it from said it spent most of its life before I bought it as a hunting Jeep in Idaho, and there was a rifle clip installed in the dashboard as well.

The mid and later 1966 model year CJs lost the snorkel cutout, Tuxes included. My '66 CJ5 has a snorkele cutout, but it was built in late '65 (November?). I'll double check the month.

    Thanks Donny.

I have asked about this before but wanted to double check - this roll bar has always perplexed me as well as it looks to have the same primer/paint as my tub...but I don’t think it’s original to a tux right?
