This rod came with my 67 CJ6 in the "box of parts". Is this a jeep part? Looks like some kind of control rod.....

It is an 1/8 inch rod total length of 26". It has a cloth covering like the webing that wraps a wire. It is painted the same color as the jeep was, so I think it was installed some place during a resto paint job.

    Thanks for any help.

    Jon.

What dose the ends look like?
Is the bend in the middle factory?Or just bent?

How did it it get removed from the jeep? Was it just lying in it when you acquired it?

    First, guess maybe hood support?

A old rod for hydro valve?or maybe it didnt even come with it, and its something, the previous owner added?

Here is a pic of one end.

The other end is a simple 90 degree turn.

The bend in middle looks like factory.

It was in the box of extra parts, I didn't take it off.

It looks like a door latch rod from a car or truck. Our '72 grand prix had a rod like that which connected the inner door handle to the latch. It had the same fiber sleeve.

My guess is some sort of linkage. Too long to be throttle linkage. Mine is a 66 with a 60/40 and there really is no adjustment or adjusting rods in the seat hardware.

Agree not for my 60/40 seat which is hard bolted to the tub (it adjusts with a 1/2" wrench) At this point don't think it is for this Jeep. Will put it in the unknown parts bin.

    Thanks.

Yup. The cloth sleeve confirms it for me. Quite a few GM cars I've owned had those inside the doors.
