Some locales (ie the great state of Massachusetts) require them if the car came with them.

Standard NS20 More Information for STANDARD MOTOR PRODUCTS NS20 is listed for the '77 T-15 but it should work on a T-14. My book shows the same part for the later T-14, so it should work fine.

If you use RockAuto (I love them)...Put a good sized order together because the shipping isn't the best.

Putting together an order from RockAuto that minimizes shipping can be a chore. Typically I fill my cart with all the comparable parts from different sources, until I cover all the parts I need. Then I try to assemble an order that gets everything I want and uses the fewest sources (ship-from locations), by deleting the "shipping outliers." This typically minimizes shipping cost. Then you have to compare the lower shipping to the possibly higher parts cost of the parts from the optimal location. Ugh.

If you have Amazon Prime, look for parts there too, especially if you only need a few things. More and more parts are showing up on Amazon, but there's no effective search for parts on their site. So try putting in the Jeep PN or the supplier's PN to get specific parts. For example, Amazon.com: Standard Motor Products NS20 Neutral/Backup Switch: Automotive - it's not a Prime part, but the price includes shipping. Buying with Prime costs a couple dollars more - I would use Prime if I had any doubts that the part will work - then I would be sure that Amazon's liberal return policies apply.

But you save 10% sales tax here so it really works out pretty well for some of us without a local parts house anymore.

I agree...It just never fails...I'm dumb and realize I should have grabbed a couple more things and pay more shipping for my brain fart.
