    It was an experimental vehicle. I believe a few have surfaced over the years. Think 3B with 5ish fenders IIRC

    I thought there was a guy in Ohio who claims to have one (or the only one) I personally have seen a few research articles taht say there was one, or 3, So I cannot nail down how many were made. I know I would love to see it (one).
    But then I am tickled silly I found a CJ6 to buy.

    As I have read, there was only a single prototype CJ4 built.

    I don't think you can really include the Mahindra as a "CJ-4" in this case when there was the prototype I linked too that was made in Toledo.

    Apples and oranges IMO.

    I have to agree with that Sparky, I would think Toledo is the acid test

    kinda like if you showed up for a WWII jeep and you had the choice between a MB and a GPW, hands down go for the MB

    IIRC, the serial number was X-151.
    X= experimental, 1=#1, 51= 1951.

    now if you read this article
    http://www.film.queensu.ca/CJ3B/CJ4M.html
    there appears pictures of 2 other jeeps with the same fenders, both military versions of the x 151, making a total of 3 vehicles that pictures are existing with those fenders, so are there 3 versions of the cj4? or just the x 151 considered the only 1?
    you see with prototype vehicles you never can tell, look at a picture of the jeep rescue concept, and the current JK, and as we are now getting emails from Del Albright who is doing the border to border run with a magazine editor in the concept Jeep the "overland" which again seems to be rescue/wrangler jk based vehicle.
