What goes under the fuel tank?

    Mine had a couple of strips of tar impregnated felt. And oh ya, a wedding ring left by the PO!!!!

    Mine had lots of dirt and a Miller bottlecap. Everything else seems to have escaped through the big rust hole under it.

    There is/ was actually a fair amount of wood in these tubs. Hat channels and spare tire reinforcements were full of oak..

    30lb Roofing felt, 1"x?
    One strip on the top strap, and three on the bottom of the tank.
    On the bottom of the tank, there is one at each end and one next to the gas outlet.

    Oh this is on a 1964 CJ-5

    Since this thread is back up I thought Id mention that the belt is still holding up nicely :beer:
