changed the oil in my cj5 and the oil bath filter. And I drilled a new hole in the clutch pivot arm 1/2" lower to make the clutch easier. It seems to have worked! I tried it once before but the steel is hardened and wouldnt drill. this time i used a masonry bit. Drilled a hole in the frame so it was a straight shot to the pivot. I know it'll be less throw but it seems to have more than enough and ill be sure to keep it adjusted proper. Also saw that i have some huge holes in the muffler. So that's tomorrows project

So I installed the Pertronix ignition tonight (PN 1548) and wow is it nice! Super easy to install and now I have my points in the glovebox as a spare. Very glad I did this mod! Very highly recommended.

for some reason after i fixed my front brakes the rear brakes had too much clearance so pedal was near the floor. The top adjusters werent cutting it so i welded on some bolts to adjust it. Works great! good pedal now

I believe Your missing the manual star wheel adjuster that should ride just below and against the top spring.

Finished install of Aluminum radiator and new upper and lower hoses. Looks like I will have to put the thermostat back in. Gauge is not going above 140 degrees. I let it run at high idle for 30 minutes.

Went for a nice drive today! I finally got to get out and test out how my new carb, Pertronix, and fresh oil change and tune up would work out. I finally have my carb adjusted just right, the timing set, and the Jeep is running the best it ever has! I get home, pull in the driveway, let it idle and no 5 mins later it sputters and dies. o_O I start to tear into everything, the carb, the ignition, nothing! It just cranks cranks cranks. Then it dawns on me, when’s the last time I filled up with fuel? :banghead: I guess when my new sending unit reads 1/4 tank I’m actually out. Lol! Sorry, I just had to share this. I felt so dumb overthinking something as simple as running out of gas. Anyone else been there? At least it did it in my driveway and not along the road somewhere (y)

Check for Ground. Check for ground. Check for Ground.

Some of you might be wondering why I repeated myself three times. I broke the number one rule when troubleshooting an electrical issue. I didn't check to see if I had a good ground. So after removing, disassembling, reassembling and reinstalling my Sparton turn signal switch. Tracing all the wires to make sure they were routed and connected correctly. Checking continuity on said wires. I finally checked to see if the front right parking/turn signal light assembly was grounded. I used the diode setting on my multimeter since it gives an audible signal to let you know you have continuity. Checked the front left parking/turn signal assembly and get that noticeable sound, continuity checked good. Do the right side and no sound. Took a jumper wire and clipped it to the install stud and the negative side of the battery and lo and behold we have sound. With the jumper installed checked all the lights and everything works now as it should.

Brief history of the issue I was having:
    - Turn Signals: Left front and rear work as expected the Right rear works the front flashes both left and right lights (both very dull).
    - Parking lights Left front and rear works as expected the Right rear works the front not so much.
    - Brake lights work.
    - Headlights work low and high beam.

Removed some paint and cleaned the mounting studs and all lights now work as expected. Hope this brief story will save someone some time if they are having similar issues with their lights.

Moral of the story. When troubleshooting electrical always check for a good ground before looking elsewhere.

Gave her a workout! Strong wind gusts brought down a few pine trees in my upper pasture today. The Jeep may not hit 50 mph on the highway without a fight but it sure pulls anything you hook it to in 4WD LOW (y)

73C334FD-9016-48FB-A178-DD4C6E7D27CA.jpeg Ordered and received the parts needed to wire my 62 and add nice accoutrements. Mine was pretty much stripped of these items when I purchased.

    Complete wiring harness
    Voltage Guage
    Turn signal switch
    Washer Reservoir w/pump
    Wiper switch
    12v charging outlet

I also have a complete Speedometer Assembly ready to go in as well.

Still need to order a new wiper motor but I have to wait until I complete more orders next week.

Can y’all think of anything I might not have thought to get that I might want/need?

Haven’t decided on radio or just mounting weatherproof Bluetooth speakers.

Local shop bent me up some tailpipes. Have to add some hangers and square things up.

Got the inserts from goferit to flip my drag link on the steering arm. Only needed one but they get cheaper the more you buy.
