Drove the old girl to the museum to pick up the key for tonight's meeting. Will drive her again for said meeting and dinner.

No leaks from engine, runs cool at 190*.

Yep, a drip or some from tranny...:worry:

My transfer case stopped leaking, so i got nervous that it was out of oil. Only low a pint. topped it off and all is fine.

Drove my Jeep to work, parked it in the parking garage as usual. Came out to go home, my CB was ripped from its mount. The policeman who came out said it was probably some damn heroin dirtbag. No more driving my old Jeep to work, although it looks like I will probably be taking the state truck home with me anyhow, hopefully starting next month. Ordered a new CB and COAX cable, they ripped the old one. Sigh.

Sorry to hear this. Who the heck steals a CB anyway?

Right!!?? It was a 35 dollar CB. The lowdown pawn shops will pay 5 bucks for it probably. I never worried about it being on my dash, or driving my Jeep to work, nobody ever bothered anything. I am just thankful I don't have to live in Scranton, if that's how things are.

I'm not one to gossip, but...

I heard once that a guy that had several CBs stolen from his rig found that if he wired an M-80 into the mic, so shorted the fuse just so when keyed, he never had anything stolen again from his rig. I also heard a guy wired a 'swat training device' (basically a flash-bang with a pull-string igniter booby trap training device) to the bottom of his fuel cans to keep them from getting stolen. In the middle of the night, a large explosion in the driveway, he found a jerry can a few feet away from the pickup, a tennis shoe in his yard, and never again had anything pilfered from his vehicles...

Just saying, I heard it verbally on the pre-interwebs years ago...

Would be my luck it'd not be the heroin addict losing fingers, but some dilweed kid buying the thing from said addict ... however, the demand for 'hot' items stops either way I guess... I see that as a reasonable end to the means ...

More plausibly, using Focker's remote key system as an 'arming' solution, a couple high-charge capacitors, and may be one of them old 'jiggle alarm' units (the ones that go off when the wind blows just so, or someone's base/amp is vibrating the neighborhood and that jiggle wire system), a spare battery and a couple of high-output coils from a junk-yard appropriately grounded to the body and frame (or may be just the dash area), I think a guy could appropriately add a significant charge to protecting his rig. completing the ground would be the tricky bit I think it might be plausible ...

Thanks for posting the specs. In the video your vacuum line on the hei looks close to the fan. It could be that angle but I am considering this upgrade so I am curious.

Worked on refurbishing my friends FC-150 Emblems. The chrome isn't the best but they turned out nice:

It's close... No illusion. Just be careful setting it up... I have no issues.

    Re-wired my brake lights.

Noticed they were not working during last drive. Signals and flashers work so must be wiring. Or switch. Looked at the wires and just touching them they came apart at the splices. Lots of splices. Only part of my retiring I hadn't completed. Now it's complete. New connectors to BOTH switches, reduced the splices to one for each set, and replaced a power wire to the left light.

Every thing works as it should now.

Mounted up a spare tire that fits the camper, the trailer I am building, and the CJ-6 onto a plain white wheel. Stuck it in the tire carrier of the -6 and now I'm amazed how well I can see out of the back window! It will look like a donut if I need it on the Willys, but it will work for all applications. Also fixed the wiring and associated crap jazzed up by the thief who stole my CB.

From the pic, I think I see a model paint bottle? Then how did yo remove? I've got to do some factory heater knobs.

Yes, I used Testors Model paint. Since, I was working with metal I just used a flat Exacto blade and scrapped the paint off. I used the dip and fill method. This is where you use a very small tip brush or toothpick. You then dip it in the paint and fill in the lettering or groove on what you are working on. Apply just enough to get the paint to flow. Once dry you can remove any unwanted paint using a plastic scraper or, in my case, an Exacto blade. To make removal of the paint easier you can apply Vaseline or some other type of paint barrier very carefully around the edge of the lettering on the surface. This will prevent the paint sticking where you don’t want it to.
