it was a craftsman, which is supposed to have a lifetime warranty, so it should get replaced for free.
it aint covid, possibly strep throat

Engine stay cable, properly adjusted it prevents clutch chatter caused by tranny/xfer case torque rotation in reverse pulling the clutch rod the wrong way.

i started digging into the transfer case, and we now have a set of tools that have a nice brownish finish on them. didn't get any pictures since i didn't want to ruin my phone, but everything in there looks like the diagrams i've seen, just coated in brown.

my brother was there, and he was marveling at the size of the T90, as he's only ever seen automatic/overdrive transmissions, which are considerably longer.

Taking many photos of EVERY detail could help you a lot later on, when you need to remember how things go together. Also organize and label parts carefully.

I once wasted half a day trying to find the gasket for a motorcycle transmission, before realizing it never had one in the first place.

Another pro tip... if your mom has a "self cleaning" oven, those parts will come out like new.:shock::shock:

Looks like the pivot boss for the e-brake actuator arm is broken out on the speedometer housing. That will need a looking at if you want to keep the drum.

I don't know about the f-134 round here. It's not cheap to operate. A stock early tbi ranger 2.5 wouldn't be too bad. Most everything can stay from the 134 but it can rev up higher for the highway. I didn't go that route because I wanted to pull the trailer but to repower without changing everything it seems like a decent option.

i was going to say that, but you beat me to it. sharp eye!
i've spent a little while cleaning the parts that i have off, and it feels AMAZING to see them come out looking far better, and obviously metal.

Qestion: do these bearings need to come off a special way to get thesae shafts out? its puzzling me.

i like to load up a gallon ice cream tub with empty shotgun shells, then perch it on a slightly open door so it dumps its contents on your victims head. it tends to get screams of "LEVI!!!" followed by reprimanding, but i get my laugh.

I used the willystech.com instructions. I have the printed copy but I can't ring it up online for some reason. Maybe someone has a link.

the ends seem to have been spinning some.

question: is it worth it to upgrade to AA tapered bearings? i imagine it'd come out to ~$250.
