I've got a new project that looks like it's going to require welding zintec coated repair panels. From what I can see on the web, it looks like some time of breathing mask is recommended. Does anyone have any experience welding on this type of coating and/or suggestions on a mask/cartridges?

Welding ink can kill you apparently. read up on welding galvanized metal. It might not be the same thing, but I would want at a least filtered air and maybe even an external air source.

Not Good, grind it clean or...........external air source helmets are expensive. Depending on what welding method your using and where can make a difference........I've used a small fan at low speed either behind or off to the side which will keep the fumes away while also keeping the fresh air near your mask...........Obviously some shielding gases may be effected..........Arc is easy to do with some air movement near the weld zone.
