    Oh & BTW BobH,
Push the drum back, clean off the entire perimeter of the hub with sand paper or Emory cloth, lube it with silicone spray, & that drum will slide off with the hub intact. GodSpeed .

Thanks, man. I will try that next. If that doesn’t work, I will try a puller. And so y’all don’t think I’m a complete idiot, it will be done VERY gently. I don’t want to break anything. I understand the risk.

If it won't slide over the hub when cleaned off as suggested I don't believe a puller will work either. I'd be afraid of warping the drum.

You will need to pull the locking hub off to remove the brake drum. I've run into the same aftermarket locking hub, and it was about 0.050" too large in diameter than the center bore of the drum. The Warn LockoMatics are tight, but will clear the drum. The hub you have is just too big in diameter.
As far as Florida inspections for applying for a title, they (DMV or law officer) needs to verify the serial plate is original and matches the title. I have a 'glass-bodied CJ5 that doesn't have a serial tag on the firewall, so that is proving to be a challenge getting it titled in Florida.

Thanks Donny. According to the FSM I have, it takes a puller to get the hub cap off. Is that true with the hubs I have, and when I pull the hubs, will it be complicated to get them back together?

The hubs you have shouldn't need a puller. I haven't taken that kind off before but it can't be very complicated. I would start by loosening all the bolts and slide the outer part of the hub out slowly. Have a catch pan under it. I imagine you should be able to remove it totally that way. There is probably a snap ring on the end of the axle shaft holding the larger part of the hub on. Just do it slowly and observe as best you can what does what as you pull it apart.

Its been a long time, but I don't think those lockout use the snapring on the end of the axle. I'd remove the 6 bolts, and see if the hole thing slides off intact. If it sides out about 1/4" and stops, remove the outermost part to expose the snapring.

Lockman, I moved to the rears so it is still TBD if I owe you a beer. But, if you make it to Orlando, I’ll buy you a beer anyway.
I need to get a puller, I guess, to get the rear drums off.

Same thing.... smaller hub. Soak the hub and lug stud areas with Liquid Wrench. Put lug nuts back on , a couple / three threads each . Tap all around brake drum and studs to set vibration, then rock back and forth while pulling outward. GodSpeed.

Just to make sure, the drivers side lug nuts are
“Righty loosey” as opposed to “Lefty loosey”, correct?

That's how they are supposed to be, if original or as original. Might be an L stamped in the end of the stud.

    Update
I replaced the light switch and now the lights work.
I replaced the ignition switch and now it starts regularly. Hard to start, but it starts.
4way flashers work but the turn signals work intermittently. I plan to dig into the switch and see if I can fix them.
I gave up on the brakes and took it to the shop today. I’ll let you know what they find.
I got rid of the high back junk passenger seat with a Best Top stock style seat. Had to buy an angle grinder to make the Jimmy Rigged mount work. :booo: I’ll work on the drivers seat when it’s out of the shop.
We havin fun now Bubba. :D

Got the seats mounted and now my head hits the soft top and I’m looking straight at the top windshield frame.
All the lights work except the brake lights. I’m getting power out of the brake light switch but I don’t know where it goes from there. I looked at the fsm and it’s supposed to go to the headlight switch but didn’t see it. I will continue the search but any suggestions would help.
I’m also changing all the fluids. One concern, the transfer case had water in it.
    More to follow.

Where did you end up on the brakes?

They changed the brake cylinders to feed at 90 deg (straight up) but didn’t change the part number. The NAPA guy hooked me up with some 45 deg adapters and I’m back in business.
I now see why everybody upgrades their brakes.
