Anybody out there have pics of how the original rears seats in a Willys Universal CJ6 looked ? Mine is a 61
I have heard there were 2 bench style sideways seats and also that there was only one seat just like the CJ5.
Any info, pics etc will be greatly appreciated!

Here is the best source on the web:

    http://www.film.queensu.ca/cJ3B/RearSeat.html

My '67 CJ6 came with a rear seat that was not factory. It was made of angle iron and bolted
to the wheelhouses. I want to build a factory style seat that can be removed easily.

PS: When wuze gets a opportunity he supposed to send me some detailed pics of those troop
seats in the back of his CJ6. I love them troop seats !!

I don't see the CJ6 troop seats covered on that 3B page...I think that's what he was after.

    I'm sorry!

I missed the "2 bench style sideways" reference. I thought he meant two different style of bench seats.

Wuze's jeep has the cool jump seats. I asked him for detailed pics but his Jeep is in winter storage and not
easy to get to right now. He said he would be glad to get the pics once the Jeep was easier to get to.

The only thing about the troop seats is that, Wuze does not have a roll bar. There is NO ROOM for one with
the seats he has. To do both you would have to shrink the size of the seats and possibly make some custom
    tweaks to the roll bar.

I love the look of a Jeep with no roll bar but I don't think I want to go wheeling with the wife and kids
    without one.

I have been saving every pic I can find of troop seats I can find. I found several pics at the Indian Auto
Forum @ Team-BHP online. The Mahindra Jeeps had them alot.

If ANYONE has pics of Troop seats PLEASE post them here!

    Thanks, TimD

One of the old header pictures from the forum was a CJ-6 with jump/troop seats.

I have never seen the jump/troop seats in person, but the picture makes me think they were a Jeep accessory. I'm sure they were gone from the option list by the '70s. My parts book only shows the 'normal' seat - I know it was supplied with the CJ-6, since my first CJ-6 came with one.

I'd think you could adapt some rear seats from a FJ40, which are similar.

    WOW :)
Thanks to all who have responded so far and any who will respond in the future !!!
The seat parts that were in mine are DEFINATELY not stock, based on the pics you guys have provided.
Bet even if I found some for sale they would be way out of my budget.
    Thanks again,
    Andy

As stated elsewhere, the seat topic is very complex.
Here is some basic information for these particular seats.

These seats are properly refered to as Longitudinal Seats.
These seats are found in the UPL under Group Index 31-07E.
According to numerical sequencing these seats were first available in 1962.

They were available for the CJ-5 with the RH and LH sides being identical.
They were availacle for the CJ-6 with the RH and LH sides being specific.
The CJ-6 longitudinal seats are obviously longer than those for a CJ-5.

This is really cool! I've been trying to find info on these troop seats for a while now! As many pics as possible, up close shots of the frame etc. I'll be making a set for my cj6 project. Thanks

Those look great, how do they attach? Looks like at the fender in the rear and then they sit on the fender when folded down. Do thy have any flip out leg or anything for support what's the front look like where there is no fender to sit on? Thanks Ziv those are really helpful! I wonder if these where only offered in export models? I've never seen any in the US.

    Hi Gerald,
My e mail: zivjeep@yahoo.com. Waiting to you reply...
Yes. No real winter here ): We have rain once or twice a week, winter in the holy dry land.

I will look for better pictures and post them here.
Any way, I sold those seats a while and install a normal seat with safety belts.

Terrible - with your neck turned sideways. Also hard (as mentioned) to work a rollcage around them.

This Post on my blog has some pics of home made versions.
