I stumbled across a plethora of Kayline, Whitco and Bestop soft tops, doors and bows in a warehouse that Pete Condos (the "Con" in Con-ferr) used to do a lot of work in. In my attempts to identify what vehicles the tops go to, I have also uncovered various ads, instructions, etc, from the various manufacturers.

This thread is for reference and historical value. If anyone has related materials, please post up!

And this last one is for an unknown brand. Very cool charcoal rendering:

the charcoal drawing appear to be for an MB or 2A windshield; square corners and ventilating glass. Not many of these tops fit well on MBs.

    CruiserStuff,

Very cool stuff. I had a rack for skis like the one pictured on my first Jeep. I had forgotten all about it.

This should be moved to the Early Jeep Restoration and Research form.

I have more lit/ads for Kayline and Bestop products (like above) from the same era that are not for soft tops / doors. Do you think I should post them here or in a separate thread?

    Yep,

I think a friend of mine copied the design and welded one up for me or maybe I bought one. Worked great, and was easy to get the skis in and out.

You might PM Sparky. He might want to put the literature in the Technical Library Section.

I tried to do a little research on soft tops for a 1969 CJ5 and found that there were several companies making them, but most of them were in Colorado. Any one have a guess on why so many companies were located there making versions of the same product. I think I have the full set of tubes and rods from a Whitco-just no canvas or plastic left. I have seen some posts that showed people trying to build there own canvas and doors-but they all seem to be missing the supports to give them the basic dimensions. If I have all of the parts, I wonder if I measured every thing up if someone could turn it into a decent drawing that we could make available to others? Any thoughts? WestCoastPat
