Rode the green B again and I like it. Seems to have good power down low, maybe a little flat in the midrange, and good power in its upper rpm range. I need to tinker with timing and a couple things. had a low vacuum reading also, 12-14in. Even with this, It will pull the same hills at 45-50 where the fhead was down to 25-30 mph:bananatool:

Found the top water neck leaking tday, on the new aluminum radiator. Crap! Still got some tuning to do. Raised the fuel level a little, no help. Still got a miss in the midrange, when pulling hard uphill. Acts like its not getting enough gas. I will check tom and see what jets and power valve are in it. When I put my foot in it, and open the secondaries, it smooths out and pulls good.

Thats with the new TA? If its fine except pulling a hill then I might suspect needing a PV that comes in earlier. Do you have a vacuum gauge? Portable, or in the dash?

Yes, this is the new TA 470. I have a vacuum gauge, portable. The last time that I checked vacuum, it was in the 12-14 range.

My hunch is maybe PV. Your engine is relatively small displacement so I doubt your carb came under-jetted. Maybe call the mfg help desk and see what they suggest.

I'm not a seasoned carb tuner but I'm sure we have a few about. Someone should be along. Might be worth a new thread since we're off the title topic. That'll draw in the carb tuners.

I swapped power valves, jets, and springs - My tune wouldn't help you as the altitude makes a big difference as well. Do check with Holley - free, good advice from them supporting the carb. They have a vested interest in making sure it works right for you.
