I have just got my :v6: rebiult and am finishing putting it together on the stand and went to put the distributor in and found a few problems, I think.
The books and the tag on the grill say to time the :v6: at 0 degrees top dead center. I have found as close to top dead center as I can but to make sure I was looking down at the timing cover and going to align the notch on the harmonic balancer up with the 0 degrees on the timing indicators but there is nothing there.
My question is does the 225 V6 have the timing indicators? If not how do you time it? If it does does anyone no of some place to get one? or would one off another engine work?
If needed I can get some pictures to show what I am talking about.
    Thanks in advance

Your timing chain cover must have been replaced at one time or another as the orignal 225 covers had the timing index cast into the unit and the later 231 units which still fit was bolted or clipped in place instead of cast on it. You should be able to find one for a 231 at a GM dealer.
