Unreal!!

    Well I finally got to putting my new rear bumper on. (Thanks Dan).
    So I have to pull the rear skid plate and pull out the tank to access
    the bolts for the bumper. I pull off the skid plate and the fuel tank
    drops out w/ it!!! There are no straps holding it in!!! :shock: :rofl: Just amazing...
    So now I have to redo the tank then put on the bumper. Twice the
    werk. Anyway, Mr. Boyink I need to find the pages on your site where
    you did your fuel tank relocation. My main question is where do the
    straps attach???

    Dutch's body was sagging so much it held the tank in. SSDutch will need a strap again.

    Not sure if your skidplate is the same, mine is this one:

    I have no brackets to hold the tank up, the skidplate holds it up with 4 bolts along the rear crossmember and 3 along the next crossmember in.

    The strap I had went into that rectangular hole on the front and was pop-riveted in place. Seems like on the rear I had one of those "J" hooks attached somewhere to tighten it down. Not sure what I'll do this time.

    I'm thinking using a strap and bolting it on the rear cross member, but not sure
    where to fasten it up front. My skid plate is simular to yours Mike but it doesn't
    go that high in the front. It bolts to another cross member just behind the rear
    axle. I'll get a couple of pics this afternoon. I suppose I could bolt it the that
    cross member. Then cut the skid plate to fit over the strap.

    Just to be clear (re-reading I'm not sure I was)...the strap setup for the skidplate I have straps the tank down to the skidplate. The skidplate and tank then go in and mount as a unit.

    Gotcha... That's a bit different than I was thinking. That makes it
    easier to install. I thought the tank straps to the frame, then the
    skid plate bolted under it. I will proceed the way you mentioned.
