    I bought one of these:

    Installed it:

Here what’s happening. All directional’s work, all hazards work, brake lights work (during turn signal use and not). What does not work is the lights on the turn signal itself. They should light up depending on the directional setting (or hazard setting). I have tried two separate turn signal units, same results. The unit its self reads continuity to ground.

Has anyone bought one of these and have it working completely?

Sand away some paint between the switch and column. Then put some electrical never-sieze there to prevent rust.

Yes, that is part of the install directions. The turn signal switch reads continuity to ground.

So everything else is working but the turn signals, correct?

Everything is working, except the lights on the turn signal switch.

Check the light bulbs in the signal switch.

Yes, I did check the lights on the unit (they work) and tried a second turn signal unit (identical unit) with the same results.

Probably some really silly little thing that will be guaranteed to make you feel really dumb.

Try an external ground wire; just touch the switch housing to another good ground, dash, bolt head whatever.
I think you're not grounding the housing for the indicator lamp to work.

That is what I think, bad ground. The unit does read to ground already, but I did run a wire to ground externally. Same results. I am stumped.

When you pull the 4-ways on does the red indicator work (flash) and who makes this unit (part no.)?

I bought the turn signal here (see below link). The red flasher on the turn signal does not come on or flash when I pull the 4-ways on. Playing with the wires a little, I was able to get the light on the signal to light, so the bulb is ok. It looks like there is one bulb on the unit that does all the lighting (4-ways, signal direction etc.). Again, everything works correctly, just not the light on the unit itself.

You have a good ground between the case and the column.
Is there a good ground between the case and the circuit board?

The blue wire is the one that feeds the pilot light inside the turn signal switch. I believe this unit has a movable plate with tabs that cover or uncover the holes in the top to show which direction your flashing. Likely has only a single bulb for indicator. If you unplug the blue wire and temporarily apply 12v going into the signal switch, the indicator bulb should light when shifting left or right.

Yes, when I apply 12V to the blue wire on the turn signal switch, the bulb lights up (red in center, green left turn, green right turn). I also double checked the ground on the turn signal switch case, grounded.

Yes your ground is good, else you would not be able to light up the indicator light. That blue wire has power supplied to it (originally) by the "P" terminal from the three pronged flasher. Check the flasher (should be heavy duty type 550 or equiv) and/or the socket the flasher plugs into.

Flasher says "heavy duty type 550". I assume it is working, considering all the turn signals and 4-ways work. What do you mean by check socket the flasher plugs into?
