This is a pic of a piece of wood (likely the PO installed) used to support tub. Is this a problem? Should I address this? This '73 does not go off road very often...Thanx for any input!

Added IMO. The original insulators are rectangular sections of tire sidewall or tread, depending on thickness, with a hole in the middle. I put away dozens of them when I worked at a Jeep dealer. IIRC some of them have a Axxx (ie A345) number, which is WWII era, and some were 6xxxxx (ie 603219), which is post-war Willys. There was wood inside the hat channels, but that was captured in body assembly and not a service part. I do not recall any wood service parts, and I handled a lot of Jeep parts.

    Definitely Not Stock.

I'd say either you have a tweaked frame or a tweaked tub. or maybe it was a way to get clearance for something, has it got any swapped parts in it?

Good questions. Don't think there are any swapped parts. I guess all I need to know is...is this anything to really get concerned about? I'm not trying to make it a perfect jeep by any means...

The thing is it's there for a reason- my $.02 is that' it's better to know what the reason is *before* you take it out.
