I just pulled the tub off my 48 Willys using my engine hoist and a electric hoist from Harbor Frieght. I attached the hoist to my engine hoist, lifted the hoist up and used the control to lift the tub up as I walked around to set it free. It was perfect for one person to get a tub off.

Next time you have that set up, would you take a pic so we can see? I'd like to see that.

    Hi Dennis,
I took some photos and they didn't come out very clear. It's still set up so I will take some more. I still have to pull the motor and fit my other. It was the slickest way to pull a tub for one person.

I did the same thing with my tub, minus the electric hoist. I just chained to some existing holes in my floor under where the seats were and triangulated to another hole towards the rear (seat belt hole) and hooked to the engine hoist. Worked pretty well. Had to stabilize with my hands but it worked.

My brother did the same thing with his TR3 body:

Not a Jeep, but the same idea. The TR needs braces welded across the door openings to keep it from folding in half. Depending on the condition of your floors, something similar might be needed on a CJ.
