Got my f150 stuck at bottom of hill. Too much wet grass/mud. I have a warn m8000 winch on my Jeep. Truck is pretty far down the hill. I would have to use the winch cable attached to a couple tow straps. Bad idea or would this set up work?

Do you need to recover the truck before better weather?

It looks muddy so either a dry day or a freeze might make the difference.

straps would work . but use with caution
winching a full size truck with a jeep
jeep also needs to be anchored . to large tree or another vehicle

Yeah. Thought about that. Could the m8000 winch up the truck though?

as long as you have a person in it to press the brakes if a strap breaks or itll be in the river. thats a long way to winch you might have to charge the battery between pulls. i would with the crappy batteries i use. But if was doing this job i would just use my long cable with a snatch block on the tree and pull it up that way.

initial pull on winch motor will pull some high amps
but once it moving . you might be alright
I've had 130 feet of cable out . on a long pull
stuck vehicle still ran , so that helped
as stated above . keep engine running . fast idle would be better

If you don’t care about the grass, throw on some snow chains and drive it out slowly.

    Is it 4wd?

If it’s only 2wd, put weight in the back.

This would be easiest if it works. Go slow.

If it doesn't, use the winch, but we want video of the jeep and the truck in the river.

Beautiful setting! I wonder if winching will damage the grass less, if you are concerned about that? If you end up spinning with chains I would think it would really tear it up.

Thanks. Was looking to stop at tractor supply tomorrow for bigger tow straps and maybe snatch block. Either way, I see some hay, grass seed, and a shovel in my future
