Hmm I dont not know if the clutch has been replaced or not but it does not slip? It just engages really late when the pedal is almost fully out. The PO had it for four years and did nothing with it is his original plan was to turn it into a military jeep clone but he decided to just sale it instead. But he did not drive it because the brakes did not work so it just sat. The clutch cable does look like its in pretty bad shape its not wound up tight on one end. I will have to post picture tonight after I get off work.

I agree that a sticky pilot bushing can cause trouble similar to this, however, it seems very unlikely in this case unless the trans input shaft is bent.

It's more like the clutch is not disengaging or more likely it's the trans that's finally worn out. I would say call Herm to discuss. Also, read the info on the Novak site.

My clutch control cable measures about 13 1/2 inches. :stout: I didn't want to remove it, I just dialed it in not too long ago, and it's really hot out today .

    Threaded end. [IMG]

"It just engages really late when the pedal is almost fully out. "

Normally, that would logically mean it would fully disengage with pedal down, but you are also reporting the opposite, i.e. not disengaging. Not getting enough range of travel somehow?

Well I have good news I drove it again today and put four miles on it and it no longer grinds when I'm up shifting or down shifting between gears. I changed the transmission fluid last night and I think the clutch was just rusted up and once it smoothed out it got alot better like Walt said! I'm still going to change the clutch cable just for safety and so I do not get stranded on the side of the road. It only does 40mph LOL! Thanks for the help I appreciate it!

Glad to hear you got it.

BTW - a broken cable shouldn't strand you on the side of the road . . . . You just have to shift without the clutch! Don't ask me how I know.

I had the end break off the linkage rod to the bell crank-sitting at a stop light in downtown Boulder, CO. Just turned it off, started in first, followed by a lot of double clutching, all the way to Ft Collins. It can be done-without destroying a T90.
