How does everyone address the trailer plug. I have the 12 or more pin military plug for the trailer. It is also still 24v. Do I remove all wires and rerun new to a standard plug with new bulbs? Do they make a conversion / adapter between the two? THe wiring and harness look great, don't want to lose if I don't have to.

Probably easier to make a new harness and keep the old one for later or sell it. You can put in 12 volt bulbs in the lights and make em work. i think the connectiors to the lights are just plug type ones.

Bulbs can be replaced with 12V versions. Are you talking about an M416? I have an M416 and (IIRC) there was a U shaped plate on the tongue that I removed to get at a place where the plug harness mates to the trailer wire harness with waterproof bayonet type connectors. I found some connectors that mated (but not waterproof) and made a short harness and put on the plug of my choosing. Worked great for me, and I could go back to original MIL if I wanted without modifying the original harness.

    Here's what I did w/ my M101CDN2... (now sold and replaced w/ a T3-C)
7Pin on Trailer & JetConnex Trailer to Tacoma
Similar to what Mike Boyink did to his T3-C, Removable Wire Harness
Not really an added measure of security, but rather just keeping the wires out from Mother Nature if you happen to store it outdoors.

For the connectors you can purchase the Mil ones or regular 14ga bullet connectors work fine as well. The mil boots offer better weather protection IMO.

For replacing the 24V to 12V light use #67 for the small bulb and #1156 for the large bulb.
