Went up to Cold War Remarketing in Littleton, Colorado Saturday and brought on the their Trailer, Cargo, 1/4 Ton, 2 Wheel, M101 DCN2. Of course I had to pick a trailer that was way uin the back and on the bottom but the guys at Cold War didn't try to convince me to take one that was already unstacked. Condition, considering thay had been stored outside for who know how long, is "new". Some surface rust where the paint has been rub off, some trailer have storage dings (some worst then others) and the military tail lights have been replace with civilian unit that are not hooked up. The military wiring harness is intact. Sorry no picture (I am still in the stone age when it comes to taking picture. I am still using a Kodak Brownie camera. Maybe if my son comes over I'll ask him bring his digital camera.) Going to line the cargo area with a Line-X liner and piant to match the 74 CJ5. If you are looking for a 1/4 ton trailer get to Cold War Remarketing.

Do you know how hard it is to find a Long's Drugs where you can buy glass plates and flash powder?

Buddy is selling a good 416 in Holyoke MA and builds jeeps for the trail, for a living, to boot.

Plan a trip to Colorado to do some REAL 4 wheeling and while you are here stop by Cold War Remarketing (CWR ) and pick up a trailer. The guy at CWR said this is the last batch of "unissued" M101's. This may or may not be true. But as the old mammoth hunter's saying goes "He who hesitates gets eaten by the saber tooth cat!".

Well, went down to get the M101 licensed this morning. It cost me $83.16. All but about $10.00 of that was city and county sales tax. Looking into getting the insides lined. Replaced the commerical tail lights with military composite units. Not really sure what is required to convert from 24 volts to 12 volts (just replace bulbs?). Going to repack the wheel bearing this weekend if all goes well. Asked my son to bring his digital camera if and when he comes over so I can post some pictures.

Just swap out the 24V bulbs to 12V ones will work fine.
    #1156 -large bulbs
    #67 -small bulbs

I have a list of correct bearings, races and seal part numbers.
Will post that tonight for you.....

Here you go...note that this is for the Canadian M101CDN 1/4 ton trailer, not a BT3(C), M100 or M416
    Cone, Bearing, Inner L68149
    Cone, Bearing, Outer L44649
    Cup, Bearing, Inner (Race) L68110
    Cup, Bearing, Outer (Race) L44610
Seal 523501 Timken 442251 or 712146 (712146 is, I think, a 'double lip seal') I used it on my trailer

My trailer did see some use by the Canadian Forces. When I went to repack the bearings I noticed some wear so just replaced everything. From what I understand is that CWM is selling unused or hardly used trailers, so you should be OK. I wouldn't reuse the seal. At least replace that for ~$5 each.
