I have the "Mechanics Manual" for the universal jeep 1956 and the tire spec. there are 6.00*16.
I need the same information about later CJ-5 model with the F134 engine (the last year model 1971 is the best).
If someone have a copy of that page it will help me a lot.
    thanks

    Thank you Homersdog.
Can you please take a picture of the cover or rhe inner page to see the name of that manual.
The reason I need this information - here there are some issues with tire size / jeep height regulations and there are no "auto-data" for those old models. If I have books / manuals / scanned pages I can show them to the appropriate regulators.
I hoped to find the 7.00*16 size in one of this pages, but I don't see them.

I will keep on collecting data from anyone who may have 1971 jeep cj-5 manuals.

    Thanks again.

    Ziv,

You might want to try talking to member jpflat2a. At one point I think he had a lot of paper references. Maybe he has something?

I seem to recall you and I working on this issue a few years back, so you may have seen this already.

This is all I have, but I believe its from 1955. Probably not of much use, but 7.00*16 is listed as optional.

This manual is very old. Sorry for the sloppy looks. It does say "1965" but I know it covers jeeps up through 71 because it covers the dauntless, the rear fuel tanks, the smog pumps.

These are still available through kaiserwillys.com and other places.

    Thank you all.

It seems that all manuals for the early cj-5s show all zises but not the 7.00*16 that I looked for.
The only place I found that show the 7.00*16 is the m38a1 (ORD 9 SNL G-....).

Because the 7.00*16 size is getting very hard to get lately, I hoped to learn more about original sizes from the manuals to be ready to the day I will have to change size and prove it is the right / allowed size to the regulators who should issue a permit for that change. One day when 7.00*16 will no longer be available, I will have to go 205/16 or 215/16 or something like that.

Once again, thanks for all the inputs. I will print them and save for the future.

    Ziv
