On an F134, 63 CJ5, where does the bottom end of the spring hook to? The FSM shows it hooking to something down on the side of the engine block. The only thing I can find even remotely close looks like a square drain plug, and it is too far for the spring to stretch to. Currently I am running a bungee cord to the oil bath air cleaner and it works ok, but would like to get it back to stock if possible. Thanks for any suggestions.

As Pete said it's the plug, there should be a hole drilled through the head for the spring to hook into.

Thanks everyone. My spring is definately too short. No way it will stretch to the plug. I will look for those Dorman springs next time I get to town. It will be nice to get rid of the bungee cord!

    Thanks again all!

Any parts store can get Dorman stuff. However, that's a popular number, and they may have it on-hand.
