Looks good. Just wondering, tho, if the radiator was recored, why do you need to clean and paint it?

For some strange reason, none of the shops around here clean or paint the damn things when they recore them. Mine was the same way.

So how do they solder the new core to the tanks without cleaning them?

They tank and clean them before coring them, its the excess solder and flux that they leave alll over the darn things.

They should paint them. Radiator paint (at least it used to be) is not just blck paint. It was special "radiator paint" . Am I wrong?

Nope, you're right, there is a special paint for radiators.

I agree, but living in a small town you sorta take what you can get. The guy does a good job he just won't paint them, I don't know why and when I got mine done I asked him and he just sorta hum hawed around and didn't really answer the question. Nobody else around here wants to recore them, just sell you a new one or patch the old one.

They should put a coat of paint for the $$$ it cost. I had to clean the outside of the tanks and the straps on the side. It cleaned up quickly. I taped up the core and just painted the sides and the tanks. I'll post pic's later.

Got my driveshafts retubed, I had to have them both lengthened, the front is now 28" and the rear is 35 1/2" long. I will post pics later. I am at a crawl, but I am moving foward.

Just an update. Mcruff and I were tightening my wheel bearing a few days ago. The rear went great, then we got to the front. We pulled the pass. side knuckle off and found there was no grease. None. All the bearings were froze. the axle shaft has alot of surface rust that I need to clean. I am putting the double hole knuckle on. I called and ordered all new seals, shims, and bearings. I am waiting on Brown Santa to come by the house. It never fails, a small project ends up costing me more $$$ and time. One day it will be done.
