I picked it up today. It's a 1966 Stevens. It has some surface rust, but everything is still pretty solid. It has 15" early CJ / truck wheels and 30" Goodyear Wrangler tires and civilian lights, but I think the rest of it is pretty original. It even has the military lunette hook. I'm going to paint it OD green to match my Willys.

been thinking of getting a 416 for behind my Cherokee. Squared off fenders go with the Cherokee better than the rounded fenders on my Bantams. Plus, I'd be a bit more willing to do some customizing to a 416. Nice score. Congrats!

Great score! Mine is a 1966 Johnson, for some reason most I see are 1966. Looks very straight. If you don't mind how much did you get it for?

If you ever decide you do not want the lunette I will trade you for my setup. Mine uses a ball, still connects where the lunette did.

I got it for $400. I think I got a pretty good deal. It doesn't have a title, which can be an issue here in PA, but I'm working on that. I still think I got a good deal. I think I'll keep the lunette. I'll have to pick up a pintle. I had to borrow one from a co-worker to bring the trailer home.

That is a great deal, doesn't look like it is in bad condition at all!

I was just saying if you ever decided you didn't want the pintle keep me in mind I have read about a lot of people wanting the ball style and cutting the lunette to weld it on... which is dumb, because lunettes are hard to find used, and a re-pro is like $250.

How is the frame and stuff under it? Are the drain plugs still intact? Looks like it sits nice and level behind the XJ... I need to figure out how to get mine to level out behind the CJ/YJ

Everything seems pretty solid. It has some surface rust, but that shouldn't be too much of a problem. There is one spot on the frame, about 2" in length. It's just in front of the driver's side fender. The frame is actually double plates at that location. The outer plate is pretty shot, so I'll have to have a new plate welded in there. Other than that. It's in pretty good shape. It's missing 2 drain plugs. The parking leg is bent, but it still functions. Are there any good resources for parts for these things? 10-4 on the lunette. I'll keep you in mind if I decide to get rid of it.
