You can see the pinion where it spun inwards and rested on the spool. At first glance I didnt notice any chipped teeth but there may be on the backside, so if its all good hopefully I can just pop some new bearings on it and roll. If not guess I'll have to pony up for some more gears...

Well a couple late nights this week and shes good to go I "believe" :D I'll be loading up in a couple hours to go out for test run #2  Fixed a leaky steering box, added bump stops in the rear, trimmed the fan to get it away from the rad. outlet, dbl. checked all the bolts, reinstalled the rear driveshaft....

Looks great! man you work quick. I was wondering if you had any pics of how you did the spring perch on the front 44 passenger side? Did you just grind it flat or did you make a perch to fit the housing radius? I picked up my 76 front end today and will start tearing it down for a regear, hi steer setup and mounts asap so I was curious how you did it.

I made a perch to fit the housing. By the time it was radiused out enough it ended up being basically just the flat part which made it the same height as the other perch that was on the tube.

its been a while but I finally got to do some more work to goldie... Redid the one of the heim joints on the steering shaft, it seemed like it was causing the shaft to "bind". Seems to work better now. Also redid the splined connector on the input shaft of the steering box. There wasnt enough room before to put a bolt through like it was orginally so I ground it down to clear the radiator and put in a dowel pin. It worked great but it was still too close to the rad. So I ground it completely round welded a nut in the original gap and put a set screw in it. It seems like it will work better than it did before. But here are a couple pics...

Jason did you make the hoop or did you buy it? IF you made it, i will need to come by and have you bend some steel for me, i will need a new hoop if i go install the frame i have.
