    Transmission fluid and transfer case for my CJ2a; GL1 90 weight or GL3, GL4, GL5 90 weight?
Am I splitting hairs for nothing?

    Thanks for any feedback.

Do not use GL-5, the T-90 doesn't like it. GL-4 works quite well for both.

The flat fender purists say use GL1 - pure mineral oil. GL5 has additives that attack the yellow metal in the transmission and Tcase. I am running GL4 from Redline, just be sure that the oil is safe for yellow metal. Redline GL4 is.

Manual says to use GL4 hypoid for axle differentials and to use GL4 NON HYPOID for tranny transfer case

I can only find hypoid gl4 stalube brand at napa by the gallon about $35 so I use that for differentials.

and since I cant find NON HYPOID I just use GL1 90 weight at napa for tranny transfercase about $15 per gallon
