T86. Vs T90 Gears

    So can anyone tell me if i have t90 guts in my T86 case?

    Here is the "T86" that came with my recent purchase.

    Great. I wish it was the original T14, but i guess i will not complain about the T90. I am just glad i do not have the t86. Now it is time to order some rebuild stuff

    Quick and easy ID for T90 guts is the straight splines on the mainshaft. The T86 mainshaft splines have the slight twist seen in Timgr's photo in post#4. Yes, at least you can get parts for the T90.
    Be sure to source a USA made 2nd gear, and count the teeth on your input shaft (33 or 35) to make sure they are compatible with whatever cluster gear is used. The 1st gear ratio varies between the T90a and T90c, using different tooth counts on both the mainshaft and cluster gears.

    My understanding is there is no long input gear for the T-90C, so a T-90 conversion of a T-86 with the factory adapter has to be T-90A (actually T-90J) gears.

    The transmission does have a long input shaft that the other t90. when i get it all apart i can get the teeth counted.

    First i have to clean it up and remove the rodent house
