Just about done rebuilding a d30 for the willys, It prev had big disk brakes swapped on using 6 hole brackets. I discovered that both sides the holes are stripped and wont hold the retaining screw. Any repair for this? Heilicoil maybe, didn't know if that was wise for a brake part. If bigger screws are available, i could tap it larger?

Is this the stock cast bracket or the GM 6 hole bracket? If the stock style cast bracket you can helicoil it. The threads are typically stronger than original with this type of repair and the retaining bolt just keeps the sliding caliper retainer in place.
