Hmm seems a lot cheaper to just replace it and if really worried keep a spare. Do you have big tires twin2?
I’m just trying to deal with issues before they become issues in the future, sounds like a may be over worried about this one.

If your front frame hasn't been beefed up very much, its a good idea to run a diagonal brace from the lower Saginaw case (right above the pittman arm) over to the opposite frame rail near where it meets the front crossmember. The power boxes can really twist up the stock frame horns.

I can never decide if power steering or power brakes is my favorite mod I did to my Jeep but it's for sure one of those two, love the power steering (y)

I used steering gear and pump off a YJ. It is a 3 bolt gear and mounted right up to my existing saginaw mount. I plan on making a brace soon but haven't yet. I had to move my winch over about 1.5", the power steering gear takes up a lot more space than the saginaw did.

If you want to see my install I think it starts around page 6 of my thread (not that mine is an amazing install) and my thread jumps all over the place so may be hard to follow the power steering install. Now that I write all that maybe just ignore my install :D
