In looking at Baby John's photo album, his top looks identical to mine (trying to get photos posted - mebbe soon). Shamelessly plagiarizing: http://community.webshots.com/user/shows102

John, do you know the brand - is it a Kelly? Mine has no ID left on it that I can find.

Also, does anyone know where to get weatherstripping for the windows? Esp. the large rear sliders, but doors would be nice too.
JCWhitney sometimes lists a bunch of (seemingly) oddball sizes, but I'm not making much sense out of them. And some are pretty spendy.

    Any/all help appreciated!

If you're talking about the fuzzy channel that the glass slides in try an automotive glass shop. They should either have it or know where to get it. Like you said J.C. Whitney has it, you just have to decipher how to measure it. The stuff is expensive no matter where you buy it.

    Keep the ideas coming, folks...

    Definitely the fuzzy channel.

I've tried all the auto glass shops in town, all say they used to carry it, but have no idea where now. I could well be blind (not just dumb!), but not seeing anything similar on steele rubber ??

I'd like to find an alternative to JCW if I can. Also might help if I can get an ID on the manufacturer of the top.

    Thanks...

OK, I have hard copy catalogues that are much easier to use than the internet version. If you would like, post the glass run channel dimension(s) and I will give you a part number. If you buy, get a sample first.

John's is a Koenig top. Mine's a Kelley, they have the separate hinges. Koenig has the piano hinges and the sloping roof line on the front half.

Yep mine's a Koenig Model 550 Super Cab.

There's a copy of a brochure on the 3B page somewhere.

JC Whitney will send you a free sample of their channel if you ask them a few times.

I got mine @ an auto glass place. Not because they were in the business of selling it, but because the guy who owned the shop was also into restoring old cars and just happened to have some lying around.

Hey, thanks a bunch, all! Sorry, I was out all day yesterday, couldn't get to the Net.

Hadn't known about the possibility of getting samples, that could help a lot.

The channel the weatherstrip fits in for the rear sliders is approx. 11/16" wide x 1/2" high.

    Thanks again!

Just be sure that when you buy this stuff that you don't get the kind with a rolled edge at the top.

    From a 1995 catalogue:

    "unbeaded channels with steel core"
These all are close to the dimension you posted:

    2-C
    10-A
    3-A-1
    3-C-1
    10-G
    8-L
    10-K

Get a hardcopy catalogue if they still have them, good stuff.

    Oops,
    Rolled edges would be:
    2-C
    10-A
    3-A-1
    3-C-1

    You still have (3)!

John, just wondering why you say not to get the rolled edge kind.

The channel (on mine at least) needs to extend beyond the edge of the opening a good 8". With the rolled edges the rolled edge will be wider than the channel and in the opening it will stick out a little bit and then as it passes the opening you have to force it passed the opening.

    I hope that's clear.

Yep. I've got a Koenig 330 for my 3B that I'm working on. It had the sliding side windows, but I cut them out to make bigger stationary windows for visibility. I was just trying to visualize John's description, because I took that same chrome rolled edge stuff out, seemed to fit fine. Might be something a bit different with his than mine.

Nope sounds like a good/better description Glenn. It's the chrome rolled edge I'm talking about. The rolled part kinda sticks outside the opening and looks good, but the channel has to go beyond the opening with the track for the channel.

The rolled edge has to transition from outside to inside at this point and it just didn't fit right.
