I may need to look for a set of five KH wheels. I got CJ D30 discs up front, so not sure if the olde steelies I have will clear. While the old Western five spokes are cool, and retro, crusty steel wheels will fit the look.

Well, I decided to ditch the back seat and make a lockable trunk / hard cover.....

I also swapped out the previous hood and went with a partial real and fake patina'd look. Since the Jeep is a mixed up bag of parts from this and that, I figured what the heck:

Plus I moved the air filter so it, and its cross tube does not cover up the top end of the engine, easier to get to things. The fenders are fastened with wingnuts so its easy to un-bolt them for engine access.

I picked up the 1/8th inch plate to make my new gas tank also, not yet started on that.

Besides the new gas tank, I need to make some frame to roll bar supports for the rear cage section. I need to replace the exhaust, and get something that is tighter to the frame and doesn't hand so much.

Waiting on 4WD to deliver my bikini top and soft doors......... (Buehler, Buehler, Buehler..........)

Finishing up my new gas tank. I'll post pics after install. Used a TJ filler on the passenger side. Smaller tank, but will fit much better between the leaf springs. I may end up getting a plastic underseat tank for extra capacity and then a transfer pump to the rear tank.

Changed the hood, too much green vs. red.

Picked up some 7" fender flares, tires needs to be within the vehicle, or I'll fail a PA inspection....... (not happy)

Well, I went and did it. I picked up some 7" TJ flares, and shortened them, to fit on the CJ5. They cover the tires well, which should help on passing a PA state inspection. Next item is getting an e-brake set up for the Dana 300. That's gonna cost some coin, I need to upgrade to the 32 spline output, and get a kit for the disc brake set up, new flange style yoke for the t-case output.

I'd post pics with the new flares, but it looks embarrassing......

Well, its been quite some time for any updates. Let's start, as above I bolted on some 7" shortened TJ fender flares. I know, some people are gonna hate them. I'm not a huge fan, but I already cut the fender openings so its done. I also finished up the exhaust and put in a 26" long Cherry Bomb muffler and tucked everything up high. While the flares do cover the whole tire, they also provided more tire clearance, so I may be stepping up tire size, and tire type. This is my first CJ/YJ without TSL Swampers, and this Jeep needs them.

I also ditched the hard top, and I cut the Meyer doors and turned them into half doors. I also got a set of YJ upper doors and mated them to the half doors, so I can be somewhat protected from inclimate weather.

After that, I finally decided to repaint. My daughter said, "after you did some much work to it, don't you want it to look nice?", so I am currently doing some bodywork, and will be spraying primer tomorrow, and should be shooting the color this weekend. And as to color, its something totally different, it will stick out. but your gonna half to wait till its in color for pics.
