I love your tub, I'll be making my own tub this winter. All that's really left is the top rail and fire wall. R)

    Got a little more done.
Rebuilt the pass corner, it had been almost torn off from when thay had the spare on the side. The baffle and hat channel in the rear corner almost fell out when I ct the corner off.

This is the first sheet metal welding for me.
Not as hard as it looks, did blow a few hole but welded up with no problems.
Also did the rear body mounts.

Hey 1970CJ6, your post really brought back some recent memories. I just replaced the hat channels and full floorpan on the driver's side. I also replaced the sheet metal where the spare tire was mounted. Great work, btw!

Really nice work!!! Looks like you're going about the rebuild the right way, sandblasted tub and new sheet metal areas. I wish I had the time.....time... to also restore my tube correctly! I guess a another winter of drafty rides. LOL

Got a lot done the last couple weeks.
The pass fender had a big torn spot, tryed to weld up but it was to far gone.
    Sorry for the bad picture.
So a fabed up a replacement piece.
Took a 4 X 6 piece of metal and 2 pieces of 3/4" plywood. Cut the wood at the same curve as the fender, clamped the sheet metal betwene the plywood and drew a line 1/2" from the curved edge and cut the metal at that curve. Clamped it betwene the plywood and took a body hammer and bent down the lip at 90d. Took it out of the form and trimed the backside to fit the fender.
Cut the fender to fit the replacement piece and welded it in.
This is wat it looked like after, it only has one coat of epoxy primer , no body filler.

Also got the body all primed with a epoxy primer.
This is the picture of the under side.

Also got the fenders, hood, grill, picture of the fenders only.

Will post more tonite. Just have to down load the pictures.

Had to patch a small rust spot on the pass side.
Cut out the bad spot and welded in a new piece.

On saturday Nov 28 I got the sanding primer sprayed. I use a buff color because I am going to paint it yellow.
    Here are the pictures.

Just sprayed the inner part of the fenders (had a little mixed up and did not want it to go to waste.) Still have some body work on them. You can see the filler on the front of one.

This body is like painting a barn.

Wow, nice!! Us here in the north are drooling over the straightness and
non-swiss cheese like floors and body of your 6s tub. Good work
