Does anyone know if a 76 and new speedo cluster will work in a 75. If not will the temp and fuel gage work if I put them in the 75 cluster? Thanks for any info.

The cluster should bolt up fine. The sending units may not be the same though for the fuel and water temp, or then again they might. If your cluster has a amp light or oil light (my 67 does) the 76 won't have that. I think your 75 would have a hi-beam and turn signal indicators on the cluster, which the 76 would have, so you are golden.

The 76 will have a park brake light and 4wd light, which your 75 may/may not support (don't know).

Thanks schardien, my biggest concern is the fuel gage. everything else works/worked fine. There is a speedo cluster for a 76 and up on ebay. I think I could pick it up cheaper than the new gages. I'll give it a shot. Who knows, might have a cluster to sell later. Thanks again.

Have you troubleshot the issue? I would say it is a ground, but if your temp gauge is working I would think the fuel would also.
You can check the resistance of the sender and make sure the wire is good to the gauge.

I have a spare fuel gauge or 2 laying around. Let me know if you are interested.

I have a 75 which I bought a newer {78} speedo and gauge set, everything worked fine except I grounded out the cross-over between the two gauges installing some other items. This ended up ruining the gauges, but they did work initially. The high beam and turn signals {indicators}don't line up perfect, but still function. I just put black electrical tape over the 4wd light {otherwise it glowed at night}. Loren

schardein, how much for a fuel gage? PO on mine must have hooked something up wrong. Pulled the guage and it is broken inside and one of the wires is burnt. End is flopping. Temp gage looks ok.

That's how mine was when I got it. I will have to go through my parts box tonight to see what I have, and I'll let you know. I know I have at least 2 different kinds. Look at yours, you may be able to see a part number on the front of the gauge, but where it doesn't show when installed. If you can give me that number I can see if I can match it.
I am thinking 10 bucks plus shipping, which would be 3.85 for something that small for USPS priority.

Here is one I have, I believe it came from a mid 60s to early 70s. It does not look just like yours the lines are different. It is also a little weathered as you can see.

If you are interested a cashiers check is fine, 13.85 with priority shipping. You can also do a regular check if you don't want to spend the extra dollar or whatever it is, just promise it will clear!

I will double check that it is good, just need to look up the specs in my "notebook".

I have another, I believe it is from a mid 80's the "F" and "E" marks are in reversed locations. If you are interested in it instead let me know and I will get a pic.

That one will be fine. let me know if it checks out. I'm like you, don't really like personal checks. not that everyone is bad, but there is a few that make it bad for everyone. Thanks again.

WalterV, geez I feel terrible, that gauge is shot. Don't know why it is even still in my parts box.
I may have another still in a couple of extra speedo clusters I have. I am thinking they are all the newer style with the f and e reversed, let me check though. It may be a day or 2 cause I am super busy right now.
    Sorry again.
