I put the first scratches in the plastic windows this weekend

I searched the forums and I think every thread ever started has the words window or cleaner in them.

Is there a good product to remove the scratches?

    TIA

There's a 3 part remover/protectant available through 4wd hardware. It didn't seem to do much about removing scratches as it did lessen their appearance and protect against further scratching. I've only used the 3 items at the top of the picture, you may be able to find them separately. Here's the link: http://www.4wd.com/shop/productdetail.asp?model=tj&productsku=86722

That's a good price! I went directly to the Novus site and can't buy it for that. Thanks!

Dennis check the local cycle shops, in winter time you can pick up the stuff on sale cause they need to move product.
Think I paid right at $2.00 a bootle.

I've used Pledge in a pinch.

Wash the windows with a sponge and plenty of soapy water rinsing the sponge frequently.

I put Pledge on them then, fills some of the haze, kinda repels water and dust a bit too.

    They'll get scratched eventully. ;)

I use McGuiars (sp?). It's designed for plastic windows in convertible tops also. One bottle is a cleaner, use that first, the other bottle is a Polish. It won't take out deep scratches but does help with the minor ones and definitely helps take out the haze and what not. I've used it for years with good results and available at auto paint stores and many Flaps. Nickmil.

I know it's inevitable, but I'm really trying to take care of them. Went through Windrock and didn't scratch them. It's a shame it happened while I was washing them

Mine took a few years before I finally scratched them (by folding the top up without a towel folded in, and while it was dirty). I'm going to try out the Novus polish, even though my top has a few years on it, and I'll be sewing in at least a new rear window after the winter.

Novus 3 bottle kit from 4WD did make it easier to see out the parts of the windows that were not already damaged from rolling and unrolling the backflap and driver/passenger.

I think what I will do when I get my next tigertop is not roll up the back flap but attach it to a homemade snap around the roll bar so it doesn't crease and you can't see out it.
