I just took the CJ-5 out for a ride this morning, and after the JEEP was warm a fair amount of smoke started coming out of the defroster ducts. The heater was not on, and the smoke did not smell electrical. The JEEP is a 1957 with an F-134. Any ideas on sources? Could it be a heater core, or a water leak somewhere? any help would be welcome.

    Thanks

If it came out of the defrost, it has to be the heater core. Did it fog the windshield? Did it smell like coolant?

Was it smoke, or steam? A bad heater core will blow steam out, usually leaving anti-freeze residue on the windshield. The only other thing I can think of is the blower motor, but you said it didn't smell electrical...
