ok, rebuilding my 75 odd fire finally. heads and intake ported, intake notched for HEI, painted and pretty...but....
i went to put on the front cover and found i was missing a shedder. i have all the parts from the tear down i think, but according to the jeep book (based on the 225) i need a shedder and a slinger on the crank. i have 2 slingers in my pile of parts...odd.
when i look in the book, it shows the old style crank case seal (rope), but i have the new tap in one piece with the rubber. does this eliminate the need for a shedder or am i missing a part?

i am moving to florida in a week and 1/2 and really need this together, but no FLAPS carry these shedders... what to do...
side note, its lookin pretty all painted, but the paint link that i searched and found was buick green (without thought i ordered and painted...then relooked and y'alls are blue...ugg). still pretty though.

i have to give my computer back tomorrow (company laptop). so i might not be able to get good info form you guys if its much later than lunch, but if you guys could drop a line if you know for sure what i dont and might have an extra one lying around, i would be VERY appreciative. 979-204-2223. name is rowdy). call anytime..i am up workin till we hours on junk yard dawg.

oh, btw, i took good pics of the intake porting on the offenhauser dual port taking it from odd fire to even fire ports. i will get those posted when i get this beast running and dynoed.

    thanx guys and gals.

    Shedder?

I'm not familiar with what you're referring to here?

I know I've got an oil slinger on the front of my crankshaft, and the neoprene seal, but a shedder?

Any pictures of what this is?

yeah bud, in the haynes 50020 49-86 jeep book, page 2E-5 v6 section exploded diagram, number 31 is the slinger and 32 is the shedder. shows the shedder goes on after the slinger next to the front cover.
if you dont have a haynes book, i can take a pic with my camera phone and send it to ya...but it clearly shows and labels a shedder (i am clueless about this). labeled 31. Crankshaft Oil Slinger, 32. Crankshaft Oil Shedder.
    weird.
