I posted a while back about my trans grinding when I tried to take off in 1st gear a T150 trans I guess has been swapped in. I took the cover off this weekend and the teeth on the syncro looked pretty good. I pushed the piece the shift fork usually pushes to go into first gear all the way and and the jeep took off fine so I am assuming that the shift fork is bent and not letting it go all the way in gear. My question is would the bent shift fork make it not take one gear but still go into reverse fine?

Depends which way it is bent. Bend it the right way, and you lengthen the trow one way and shorten it the other. I think the fork for 1st is the same one for rev, but I've been known to be wrong before.

The shift forks on my t15 weren't bent, but there was alot of play in them. The pin which holds them in was not driven in all the way. Once driven in, they were very rigid.

I can't tell you if that was my problem, since I found some other issues, and rebuilt it anyway.
