I have a 75 CJ5 with a 232 engine and a three speed trans, so what trans and transfer case do I have? I want to write the info down and place it in my hayes manual for referance.
Also, about slip yoke eliminators, it apears I dont need them as both the front and rear have bolt on yokes and I could just take off the U-Bolts and remove drive shaft if I had to. Does this seem likley or am I way off base with my interpitation of a S.Y.E.
As always I thank anyone who answers and spends the time to help me out on this. And then there is one other thing that comes to mind, the rear seal on the transfer case yoke is leaking some, is that a seal I can order by itself or do I have to buy a whole kit.
    OK, I am done! :?

Thank you for the reply, I am living in Morristown. I have been to Johnson city on a few occasions. It is nice there. I got lost once and pulled into a Papa Johns Pizza place and the new the exact place I was going. I had never thought about asking a pizza place for directions but they make there money knowing there way around.

The inline 6s came with a Borg-Warner T14 3-speed transmission and a Dana 20 transfer case. Yep, no SYE needed (or applicable) on a Dana 20.

How do you know you have a 232? Most were delivered with 258s. If you are not sure, look at the build-date-code stamped into your block, below the #2 and #3 spark plug. If the 4th character is an "E", its a 232. If it's an "A", it's a 258.

Re the seal, gosh, I would think so. There are lots of Dana 20s out there. Turner's lists it separately. Jeep P/N 8123077 http://www.thejeep.com/onlinecatalog/p129.htm

I am going to order or go get that seal tomorrow and a valve cover as well. I Drove the old Jeep all the way to Detroit Michigan and only ran it to trouble with the turn flasher, the windshield seal leaks and it shorted out the flasher.
Thanks for the offer of another T case, but mine is in pretty good condition.
I got to follow a small dream and drive more that 400 miles with the top off and I got a great tan out of it.
